Terms of Service
Last updated: July 23, 2026
1. Who we are
Forge (“the Service”) is an interactive fiction experience powered by Anira (“we”, “us”), available at forge.anira.io. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
Forge is a living-world game in which you explore scenarios inhabited by characters driven by artificial intelligence. The Service is provided as-is and evolves continuously: worlds, characters, rules, features, and pricing may change, be reset, or be removed at any time without notice. Game progress, sessions, items, and in-world state are ephemeral and may be lost; we make no commitment to preserve them.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You sign in with a Google or GitHub account, or with a magic link sent to your email address. You are responsible for the security of the accounts and inbox you use to sign in. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use the Service.
You may not share, sell, or transfer your account, and you may not access the Service through another person’s account without permission.
4. Credits and payments
Some features consume credits. A limited number of free credits may be granted on a recurring basis; additional credits can be purchased. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
Credits are a license to use features of the Service, not property or currency: they have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Except where required by law, purchases are final and unused credits are not refunded, including if your account is terminated for a breach of these Terms or if the Service is discontinued. Prices and credit costs may change at any time; changes do not affect credits already purchased.
5. AI-generated content
Characters, dialogue, events, and images in the Service are generated by artificial intelligence, driven in part by what you type and do in the world. AI-generated content is fictional, may be inaccurate, incoherent, or unsettling, and does not represent our views. It is not advice of any kind — do not rely on it for factual, medical, legal, or financial purposes.
Text you type in-game is processed by third-party AI model providers to generate the world’s responses (see the Privacy Policy). Do not enter personal data about other people, confidential information, or anything you would not want processed by an AI system.
6. Your conduct and content
You keep any rights you hold in the text you enter. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, reproduce, and process that input to operate, improve, and promote the Service, including feeding it to the AI systems that run the world.
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to generate unlawful content;
- attempt to extract, jailbreak, or misuse the underlying AI systems, prompts, or APIs beyond normal play;
- probe, scrape, overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service, or access it by automated means without our written permission;
- harass other people or impersonate any person or entity;
- circumvent credit, rate, or access limits.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, at our discretion.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including its software, design, worlds, scenarios, characters, and branding — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial entertainment. To the extent we hold rights in AI-generated output shown to you during play, you may use that output for personal, non-commercial purposes (such as sharing screenshots of your story).
8. Availability
The Service is under active development and may be interrupted, changed, or discontinued at any time. We do not guarantee any level of availability, and we may impose or change usage limits to keep the Service running for everyone.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request deletion of your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 5–7 and 10–12 survive termination.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI-generated content, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, credits, or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim and €50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for intent or gross negligence.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence remains unaffected. Courts at our seat have jurisdiction, except where the law grants you a different forum.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be signposted in the Service or by email; the “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
